The Centre of Excellence plays a fixture programme linked into the Long Term Player Development model against the other FA Centre of Excellences in the North West region, and other Centres from throughout England including Hull City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Blackburn Rovers Girls Centre of Excellence provides:-
- High quality training facilities and match facilities at Barnoldswick and training facilities in Blackburn.
- An exit route for future England players
- High Quality training twice a week.
- Level 3 (UEFA B) Head Coaches in every age group
- A Referee Centre of Excellence in conjunction with Lancashire CFA Referee’s department integrated into the programme in order to establish a safe environment for referees to develop.
- Sports Science and Psychology provision for players and coaches.
- Fitness and Conditioning provision via a new Athletics (SAQ) coach.
- High quality competition against other FA Centre of Excellences – 20 games per year planned.
- Audio visual analysis of every player during matches.
- Significant financial investment by Blackburn Rovers FC and the FA.
