The LFA are always looking for experienced officials who wish to assist in the recruitment & retention of referees, as well as their continued development to become FA Referee Instructors.
In order to become a Registered Instructor, you must complete a two day course where your knowledge of Law, delivery and presentation skills are assessed. Once the course is finished a further apprasial takes place on a basic course. Providing candidates meet the criteria laid down by the FA they then become registered instructors and are able to deliver training on basic courses.
Registered Instructors who wish to become fully licensed instructors can do so by attending a 7 day course where a series of appraisals based on presentation and delivery of in-service training are held. Once the course is complete candidates are then appraised in their county delivering a training session for existing match officials (in-service training). Providing the criteria is met by the candidates they then become an FA Licensed Instructor
