As two of the key drivers in this years ‘Kick It Out’ project, Lancashire FA and Bolton Wanderers are looking to support events across the County and the Borough respectively. The project is a national programme, which is supported by the Football Association and both its professional and amateur clubs, aiming to address issues around racism using the universal tool of football to raise awareness.
The event is one of many supported by the Lancashire FA and Bolton Wanderers which shows a commitment towards these issues.
The ‘Kick It Out’ campaign is part of the commitment to using Football to provide positive educational messages. People involved in the programme have had the opportunity to go on to join local clubs to develop their skills and build friendships with other people from there Boroughs.
Pete Wild Inclusion Officer for the Lancashire FA said:
‘The Tournament will help to educate people in Lancashire about the issues around racism, not just in football but in general society. It will do this by also giving them the chance to play football, to have fun and to achieve within a cohesive environment. A big thank you must go to Bolton Wanderers for hosting and organising the event and yet again shows the Clubs commitment towards the issues around Racism in football.’
