Groundsman of the Year 2014

Nominations are now being sought - Deadline 31st January 2014.

The Lancashire FA is now seeking nominations for The FA Groundsman of the Year Awards 2013/14. The FA’s Groundsmen of the Year is now in its 12th year. The Award was set up to recognise the contribution of these unsung heroes of the grassroots game and encourage the development of groundmanship.

The majority of football in this country is played outside the Football League. Quality pitches are therefore essential for the development of football at every level. Grassroots groundsman, the vast majority of whom are volunteers, play a huge role in ensuring pitches are in their best possible condition, week in, week out. The Awards were set up to recognise the contribution of these ‘unsung heroes’, who work in all weather, all year round, to make sure that thousands of matches can take place on a high standard of playing surface.

You can nominate your groundsman from Step 7 of the football pyramid and below by completing the nomination form below and returning to Lancashire FA via email or post.

The deadline for nominations is Friday 31st January 2014.
