The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club is free to join ahead of the new 2013/14 season.
The decision to make the joining the club free was taken following member feedback and it underlines the commitment to support active coaches who are determined to develop their skills.
To access the offer, coaches must have all the necessary membership pre-requisites.
Renewal and sign-in processes will be consistent with previous seasons, but when coaches reach the payment stage the membership will show as £0.
The Head of Learning at The FA, Jamie Houchen, is pleased that coaches can now benefit from free membership without detriment to the quality of training.
“It has long been our intention to provide free membership to The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club, without wishing to devalue the role of coaches."
“I look forward to supporting the continued growth of the membership. Coaching as a profession at all levels is here to stay, and the recognition and value of all coaches remains paramount to the delivery of producing better coaches and better players supported by The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club team."
The Licensed Coaches’ Club plays a vital role in raising the standard of coaching in the game throughout the country and also forms a key part of the FA’s Youth Development Review and Coaching Strategy.
There are certain criteria that coaches have to meet before they can join the Coaches’ Club.
Criteria to join:
- Minimum Level One coaching qualification
- Emergency Aid certificate
- FA Safeguarding children certificate
- FA CRB check (if coaching children)
