New SSE Wildcats Girls Football Centres for 2018

Lancashire FA is pleased to announce that the window for organisations to apply to deliver an SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Centre in the county is now open.

The FA and SSE launched the SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Centres earlier this year, aiming to inspire girls aged between 5-11 to be involved in football.

The Centres provide girls with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment.

The sessions take place on a weekly basis, either after school or at weekends, subject to each local organiser.

They provide a safe environment where girls who don't currently play the game can have fun engaging with sport, making new friends, developing fundamental skills, trying a variety of sessions and creating foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

Each SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Centre is run in conjunction with local County FAs utilising qualified coaches and local facilities to offer girls a location nearby where they can get involved.

200 Centres were established in 2017 and a further 800 will be in place for 2018.

There are currently 10 Centres in Lancashire - please see our interactive map below to find one close to you.

We advise that any potential applicants speak to our Women and Girls Officer Michael Nadal on michael.nadal@lancashirefa.com or 01772 624000 before applying to discuss the support for a bid in year 1 of the project.  The FA and SSE have launched an initiative designed to inspire girls aged between 5-11 to be involved in football.
