Sports Coach Apprentice wanted

The children, staff and governing body of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, in partnership with Lancashire FA, are looking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and highly motivated Sports Coach Apprentice who will be a role model for our children.

Vacancy Description

You will be involved in a range of activities within the Community Trust, including:
  • Support the role of the Youth Inclusion and Opportunities Officer to provide a platform to raise childrens aspirations and fulfil their potential.
  • The apprentice will fulfil coaching and administrative support duties within the Community Trust.
  • Evening KICKs sessions, helping to engage hard to reach children and young adults.
  • Supporting the delivery of PE lessons across all age groups of children.
  • After school sports clubs.
  • Supporting children to reach their potential in Maths and English.
  • Supporting delivery on soccer school.
  • You will be expected to work a minimum 37.5 hours per week. The post holder will be expected to work matchdays as required. With the nature of this position the post holder can expect to work a reasonable amount of unsociable hours to ensure project success

Qualifications Needed

  • Minimum of 3 GCSE’s (Including Maths and English at Grade C or above).

  • To at all times represent Blackburn Rovers Football Club and Blackburn Rovers Community Trust in a professional manner regarding to dress, presentation, personal hygiene, attitude, conduct and professionalism.
Year 1
NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in Physical Education and School Sport Level 2 in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning 
Level 1 Functional Skills Maths/English (If Required) 1st 4sport Level One Award in Coaching Football FA CRC disclosure

  • NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership
  • Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in Physical Education and School Sport 
  • Level 2 in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning
  • Level 1 Functional Skills Maths/English (If Required)
  • 1st 4sport Level One Award in Coaching Football
  • FA CRC disclosure
Year 2

NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport Level 3 in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning 

Level 2 Functional Skills Maths/English (If Required) 1st 4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football 

  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport
  • Level 3 in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning
  • Level 2 Functional Skills Maths/English (If Required)
  • 1st 4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football

This will be a fixed term contract in the first instance from January 2018 until December 2018 (1-year extension subject to funding).

The successful applicant will require DBS clearance.
