Sports & Pupil Support Apprentice wanted

The children, staff and governing body of Roose Community Primary School, in partnership with Lancashire FA, are looking to appoint a skilled, enthusiastic and highly motivated Sports & Pupil Support Apprentice who will be a role model for our children.

Vacancy description

You will be involved in a range of activities in school including:

  • Supporting delivery of PE lessons across all age groups of children
  • Running daily lunchtime and after schools clubs
  • Supporting children to reach their potential in Mathematics and English
Qualifications needed:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including Mathematics and English at grade C or above)

Applicants should be:
  • Passionate about sport and developing children’s skills in physical education and approach to active lifestyles
  • A positive role model for our children and inspire them to be the best they can be
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills
  • Willing to be involved in whole school life

Training will include:

Year 1
  • NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership
  • Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in Physical Education and School Sport
  • Level 2 in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning
  • 1st 4sport Level 1 in Coaching Football
  • 1st 4sport Level 2 in Coaching Football
Year 2
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport
  • Level 3 in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning

This will be a fixed term contract in the first instance from 1 January 2018 until 31st December 2018.

The successful applicant will require DBS clearance.

Pay rate - Year 1: £3.50 per hour (minimum 30 hours per week)
