Lancashire FA Hold trials for U18 Representative squad
Trials for the 2018/19 Lancashire FA Male Under 18 Representative squad are due to take place this month.
The Lancashire Football Association has a proud history dating back to 1878 and our member clubs include some of the great names of English, and indeed world football. However we are an Association that also wants to build for the future and it is here that we would like to work closely with Lancashire clubs.
We have always been very proud of our u18s representative side. In recent years we have won, and been in the final of the Association of Northern Counties Cup. We last won the FA County Youth Cup in 2014. Every year boys who have played four or more games are awarded their county caps.
Our Under 18 Representative squad offers a fantastic opportunity for talented youth players to participate in representative football for their County, to learn and develop within a professional environment, and to play with the County’s elite players outside the professional game.
Throughout the course of a season, the squad participates in two competitions – the Association of Northern Counties Youth Competition, and the prestigious FA County Youth Cup.
The squad has enjoyed recent success – lifting the FA County Youth Cup in 2013/14 and winning the Association of Northern Counties Youth title in 2016/17 – and naturally will look to build on this next season.
Player Requirements
- Must be under the age of 18 as of midnight on 31st August of the relevant playing season
- Must have attained the age of 15 as of midnight on 31st August of the relevant playing season
- Must be ‘non-contract’
- Must be a member of an affiliated Lancashire FA Club or College
Should you be interested in exploring this opportunity, Lancashire FA will be hosting a series of trial events in July as we look to plan and prepare our representative squad ahead of the new season.
These events will take place at the County Ground, Thurston Road, Leyland, PR25 2LF on the following dates:
- Monday 16th July (please try to attend the first trial date where possible)
- Monday 23rd July
- Monday 30th July

INFORMATION: Report to main reception upon arrival. The session will include an introduction at 6.00pm prompt prior to a practical session on the 3G artificial grass pitch, which will conclude at 7.30pm.
PLEASE NOTE: The only footwear permitted on the 3G pitch will be astro trainers or moulded studs. No blades (including rubber ones) or metal studs are allowed. Players will be required to bring appropriate training kit, including shinpads, for the practical session. Changing and shower facilities will also be available.
