Simon Gerrard appointed Chief Executive Officer

The Lancashire Football Association (LFA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Gerrard as it's new Chief Executive Officer.

After great interest in the position from a large field of high calibre applicants, the appointment panel came to a unanimous decision.

“We were hugely impressed by the people who were shortlisted for interview,” said LFA Chairman Roger Haydock “We saw some top class people.”

“The interview process was extensive and rigorous with candidates asked to provide a ten minute presentation, followed by a series of competency questions.”

“In the end Simon impressed us immensely with his knowledge of what is needed at County FA level, his ideas for taking us forward and his engaging personality. We believe we have the right person for the challenges we face and the exciting initiatives we are looking to introduce in the near future,” added Roger Haydock.

Simon joins the LFA after spending the last 12 months working in the Football Participation Department of the FA. “I’m truly honoured to be leading the association and looking forward to meeting the footballing and business community across the county,” said Simon

"I’m from Lancashire originally and started my career here, so it feels like home.”

He will take up his post officially on Friday June 1st.
