Football Advisory Board Team Members - Join Us and Shape Football in Lancashire

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join the teams for our newly formed Football Advisory Boards (FABs).

Our FABs are forums for the voice of Lancashire's footballing community, and our FAB members’ opinions and advice will feed directly into the Lancashire FA Board of Directors.

These key insights will help shape Lancashire FA’s vision and strategy for football across the County.

The FAB teams that we are currently recruiting for are Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Referees, and Women and Girls. More information about each FAB is shared below, and you can find specific membership criteria for each within their terms of reference.

To Apply

Take a look at the FAB's terms of reference and complete the application form by 12 noon on Friday 17th September 2021.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend a brief, informal interview, planned for week of 4th October. This will be with the FAB Chair and the Lancashire FA Lead for the specific FAB that you are applying for.

Lancashire FA is committed to equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion, and welcomes applications from our under-represented communities as we are keen for our FABs to be representative of Lancashire's diverse football society.

As a values-led organisation, it is important that anyone joining us shares our values of creativity, inspiring, teamwork, caring and integrity.

Best of luck with your application – we are looking forward to hearing from you.

Join the Women and Girls Football Advisory Board Team

Message from the Chairperson - Kelly Boag

It is my pleasure and privilege to have been appointed Chair of Lancashire FA's new Women and Girls Football Advisory Board.
I have been volunteering in the Female game as a league official, FA working group member, coach and player for a number of years and I am proud to have been involved in and supported a number of initiatives to grow the female game across the county.

My vision for the future is to see the female game continue to grow across the county and the Women and Girls FAB will provide an opportunity for all stakeholders in the female game, from grassroots through to the professional game, to work together and ensure that football provision for Women and Girls in Lancashire is the best it can be for volunteers, coaches, referees and players.

Who We Are Looking For:

As part of Lancashire FA’s ongoing dedication and commitment to the Women and Girls’ game, we are looking to recruit committed individuals from across the female game, to become members of our new Women and Girls’ Football Advisory Board.

The role of the board is to provide a dedicated forum to engage with women and girls across the county to determine programmes, activities and methodologies that will increase female participation and involvement throughout the football community and shape the game with this objective in mind.

FAB members need to be committed and passionate about being part of a unique forum that will provide a voice for Lancashire's footballing community, and ultimately shape the future of Women’s and Girls’ football in the County. We want to hear from you if you have the skills, experience, and passion to be part of the next step in our more responsive and agile organisation to make a sustainable difference to football in Lancashire.

Applications from those currently working, volunteering, or playing within the professional or grassroots game are welcome.

We would encourage applications from all individuals with a keen interest in developing the female game especially from the education sector including School Games Organisers, wider volunteer groups, and other sporting organisations in line with FA Strategic objectives.

Join the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Football Advisory Board

Message from the Chairperson - Jenny Rigby

I am proud and excited to have joined Lancashire FA as the Chair of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Football Advisory Board. I have been involved in clubs within the County for the past 10 years, helping to ensure that young players have an equal opportunity to develop and fully participate in the game. I have previously coached and managed junior teams and am currently enjoying the role of Club Welfare Officer, whilst also having involvement in campaigns within football to promote player care and positive mental health.

I am looking forward to combining my football experience with my career-long experience of Equality and Diversity campaigns in the public sector, challenging and tackling discrimination in all forms. I am keen to create opportunities for the football community to work together to bring Lancashire FA’s vision of ‘A Game for Everyone’ to life. I passionately believe that we can all play an important role in shaping and driving this vision, and hope that the entire football community will join us as we continue on this journey.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking to recruit people who are happy to join in with debates and discussion, to support Lancashire FA in tackling society issues in football and are willing to be advocates for inclusion within our community.

We very much encourage applications from individuals with a keen interest, and skills, within the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion space, lived experience of the 9 protected characteristics and connections within our local diverse communities to apply.

Join the Lancashire FA Referees Football Advisory Board

Message from the Chairperson - James Mainwaring

It is my pleasure to invite applications to join the newly formed Referees Football Advisory Board (FAB) here at Lancashire FA.

The introduction of the FAB is a true sign of Lancashire FA’s ongoing dedication and commitment to referees of all levels across the County. Furthermore, it brings about an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with FABs from other key areas, to make a real and lasting impact that benefits not only the referee workforce but all areas of the game within the County.

I’ve experienced refereeing from a multitude of positions throughout the years, having qualified 20 years ago. I’ve been fortunate enough to observe, tutor, mentor, coach, and develop referees alongside my own, active on-field progression. Referee development is something I am extremely passionate about, and my vision for the Referees FAB is to bring together others who share this passion for the betterment of all referees in Lancashire. This group will engage with, and strive to drive improvements for, our referee workforce.

Working with the referee’s department, and FABs from other areas of the game, the group will look to suggest, develop and implement real and lasting changes which will benefit referees and our key stakeholders.

Who We Are Looking For:

As well as being passionate about referee development, FAB members will need to be committed to being part of a unique forum that will provide a voice for Lancashire’s footballing community, and ultimately shape the future of refereeing within the County.

We’re excited to hear from anyone who shares our passion and wants to be part of this journey, and would encourage applications from active or retired referees as well as those with experience of the wider referee workforce (e.g. tutors, observers, mentors, coaches).

Lancashire FA is committed to ensuring a referee for every game and that our workforce is inclusive and represents the communities we serve. With this in mind, we are particularly keen to hear from individuals with specific experience of engagement of the under-represented areas of our society, including Women, Black, Asian, and all other minority ethnic communities. This will enable us to develop a diverse refereeing workforce.
