Clubs Football Advisory Board - Join Us And Shape Football In Lancashire

We are currently recruiting for volunteers to join the newly set up ‘Clubs’ Football Advisory Board.

Our Football Advisory Boards (FABs) are the forums for the voices of Lancashire’s footballing community, feeding opinions, ideas and footballing needs directly into the Lancashire FA Board of Directors and Executive to influence football’s focus across the County.

We are currently recruiting for additional enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join the newly set up team on the ‘Clubs’ Football Advisory Board. Within this FAB we have sub-groups that represent certain different elements of male* pathway football and it would be desirable for additional members to have specific experience on a club committee and be able to represent teams competing in Steps 1-6 of the football pyramid or a feeder league, though we also welcome applications from other areas of the grassroots game too.

The leagues that sit within Steps 1-6 are:

• The National Football League / National Football League North
• The Northern Premier League
• The North West Counties League
• The West Lancashire Football League (feeder league)

*Note: the Clubs FAB represents the male pathway. The Women & Girls FAB represents the female pathway and the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion FAB represents the Disability pathway.

A message from the Lancashire FA Lead – Nick Birchall

As a volunteer Coach, active within the grassroots game for nearly twenty years, and having worked at both The FA and Lancashire FA, as a Development Officer and Coach Mentor, I am delighted to be the Executive Lead for our first Clubs-focussed Football Advisory Board.

Through this unique, exciting new forum, we are reaching out to Clubs so that they can directly influence decision-making at all levels of football. By sharing their specific football needs, we can create the right county-wide programmes to suit them. This will enable us to fully support Clubs in Lancashire with both ‘on’ and ‘off’ pitch developments, creating the best environments for football to be enjoyed by all, and to prosper and grow moving forwards.

Who we are looking for:

Currently we could really benefit from individuals with the relevant experience to represent teams competing in Steps 1-6 of the football pyramid or a feeder league, though we also welcome applications from other areas of the grassroots game too.

If you have Club committee experience, and a keen interest in developing the grassroots football provision in Lancashire, then get in touch to help make a sustainable difference to football in Lancashire.

Check out the Clubs FAB Terms of Reference here.

Complete the application form by Sunday 6th March 2022.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend a brief, informal chat with Nick, the Executive Lead, and the FAB Chair during March.

Lancashire FA is committed to equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion, and welcomes applications from our under-represented communities as we are keen for our FABs to be representative of Lancashire's diverse football society. Lancashire FA is a values-led organisation, and anyone joining us must share our values of creativity, inspiring, teamwork, caring and integrity.

Best of luck with your application – we are looking forward to hearing from you!
