Hesketh Bank beat Blackpool Wren Rovers to lift the Amateur Shield trophy at the County Ground.

Despite Hesketh Bank getting two goals under their belt in the first half, this didn’t stop Blackpool Wren Rovers from pushing for a goal and they finally got their reward in 72nd minute to make it 2-1.

It was nonstop up and down the pitch for the remaining 18 minutes, with gasps and cheers around the ground as the Blackpool-based club constantly found themselves in great positions but they just didn’t have that clinical final touch to equalise.

It was Hesketh Bank who were victorious at the final whistle, but thanks to Blackpool Wren Rovers’ efforts it very nearly ended in a dramatic session of penalties.
