The County Ground

The County Ground houses the Association’s offices and is currently the home ground of Bolton Wanderers reserves and both the Lancashire FA representative teams.

Lancashire FA relocated from their Blackburn headquarters to The County Ground in 1998.

Located next to the Motor Vehicle Museum, the ground was originally home to Leyland Motors FC who played in the Lancashire Combination, Cheshire County League, before becoming founder members of the North West Counties Football League.

Whilst well renowned locally for its immaculate playing surface, the ground has also seen significant improvements off the pitch over the years, including the construction of a 500 seater stand and a ground capacity of over 2,300.

The facility is currently used by Bolton Wanderers FC for all Barclays Premier U21 Development League fixtures, while the Association continues to host fixtures for both its Senior and Youth Representative teams who participate in the Association of Northern Counties Competitions and The FA County Youth Cup each season.

Towards the end of every season the facility is host to nineteen of the Association’s County Cup Final Ties, with competitions for both Adults and Youths, males and females – ranging from the Under 12 Youth Cup to the Senior Cup for Professional Member Clubs.
