The FA Community Awards recognises and rewards the people and organisations driving grassroots football.

There were six Lancashire FA winners of the 2017 Awards - they were as follows:

  • The FA Charter Standard Club Award: AHF FC
  • The FA Charter Standard Community Club Award: Leigh Genesis FC
  • The FA Charter Standard League of the Year Award: East Lancashire Football Alliance
  • Best Inclusive Project Award: Leigh Genesis FC
  • People's Award - Outstanding Contribution to Community Football: David Tynan, Chairman of Penwortham St Teresa's
  • Coach of the Year Award: Owen Coyle Junior, England Amputee Football Association

Each award winner was given two tickets to the FA Community Shield final between Arsenal and Chelsea - click here to read about our winners' trips to Wembley.

Our volunteers of Lancashire were also well-represented in the FA Respect Awards and our very own Amanda Borrino received the national Committee Member Respect Award.

Amanda is the Club Secretary at Layton Juniors and had introduced a variety of Respect initiatives to promote a positive environment.
