Premier League Taster for the Young Potentials

Lancashire FA nominates 4 referees
Lancashire FA sent four ‘Young Potential’ referees to a Premier League Tournament at St.Georges Park in November.

Henry Simm (Wigan), Josh Pope (Chorley), Matt Phillipson (Darwen) and Marc Gardener (Preston), all spent two days officiating the Under 12 National Finals at the new National Football Centre.

The tournament pitted the academy sides of Manchester City, Arsenal, West Ham United, Bolton Wanderers, Stoke City, Reading and Leeds United in a two day knock-out tournament.

Manchester City met Arsenal in the Final, watched by over 400 people, with Arsenal coming out winners 4-3 on penalties after extra time.  Lancashire referee Henry Simm was selected by referee coaches to oversee the final, who is confident the experience will make him a better referee.
