Young Volunteers

Start helping out in your community

Here at Lancashire FA we always encourage young people to get involved in volunteering in football.

Young Volunteers Day

  • Held Annually in May Half Term
  • 9:45am - 4:45pm
  • The County Ground, Lancashire FA (PR25 2LF)
  • Free of charge

Our annual County Young Volunteer Day is for young volunteers aged between 13 and 18, and aims to provide them with a range of football knowledge and ideas, which will empower them to make a difference in their football communities.

This event will cater for the demand that we experience for young volunteers coming into football from the School Games volunteers programme and other young leaders programmes.

The day will be split into practical and theory sessions, covering modules such as:

  • Refereeing
  • Coaching (in line with the National Skills Coaches programme)
  • Coaching Disabled Footballers

All modules will be delivered by fully qualified FA Regional and County FA Staff.

It's free to attend and lunch will be provided, but volunteers must register beforehand.

Following on from the County Young Volunteer Day, the young volunteers must commit to further voluntary work at their local football club and/or school in order to use their new skills and develop their leadership experience further.

They will also have the opportunity to progress onto future courses and programmes here at Lancashire FA, such as the Junior Football Leaders Course, FA Level 1 in Football Coaching and the FA Referees Course.

"The Lancashire FA County Young Volunteer Day gives students a fantastic opportunity to gain an insight into leadership in football.

"The event has been a great success in previous years and is the first stepping stone for young volunteers along the pathway to football coaching or refereeing.”

Iain Kay, Lancashire FA's Football Development Manager
