Lancashire FA is delighted to be asked to host the upcoming Premier League International Cup match between Blackburn Rovers and Portuguese giants, SL Benfica.
The Group C match will take place at the County Ground - home of the Lancashire FA - on Monday 25 November with a kick off time of 7pm. The match will be the second of three Ground C matches for Damien Johnson's U23 side, who also face Hertha Berlin and Newcastle United.
Lancashire FA's Head of Commercial & Operations, David Chell, said: "For us to be asked to host this prestigious U23 fixture is another example of our vastly improving reputation here at Lancashire FA."
"We have recently begun a major refurbishment throughout the site here at the County Ground, which is scheduled to finish in October. By the time of completion, we will have fantastic facilities on offer, which will be available for many match day and non-match day events."
"We look forward to hosting Blackburn and Benfica here on 25 November, and welcoming both sets of supporters for what I'm sure will be a fantastic evening of European action."
Admission details for the Benfica match will be announced in due course.
