Referee Safeguarding

Lancashire FA’s dedicated Referee Safeguarding page has been designed to provide you with all of the required important information which you may need in order to comply with the FA Safeguarding Policies.

In addition to this, it also provides you with Lancashire FA’s Referee Safeguarding Policy which outlines the support and guidance that we offer to our match officials.

The FA is now requiring match officials to renew their safeguarding training every three years, similarly to the current DBS process. In addition, up until now there has been no requirement for eligible match officials to have an in-date CRC at all times.  It has been sufficient to have one only at the point of registration.

Taking all of the above into account, the county FA Referees Department will contact you should you not be currently meeting the above requirements. You will be provided with the next steps that you will need to take in order to be compliant with the FA regulations.

Therefore, if you have received correspondence from a member of the Referees Department, please use the below guidelines to ensure that you possess the required Safeguarding and DBS qualifications:

DBS Guide

Please use the above document if it has been communicated to you that you are required to apply for a new DBS (formerly CRC). Follow each step carefully as it contains all of the information that you will need to know. Following the completion of your application, contact a member of the team in order to have your documents verified.

Online Re-Certification

Please use the above document if it has been communicated to you that you need to complete the FA Safeguarding Online Re-Certification Course. The document contains step by step instructions and it is important that you pay close attention to these. It is also important that you watch all of the required videos, tick all of the boxes and also answer all of the questions fully in order to generate your certificate at the end of the course. 14-15 years old safeguarding

face to face workshops

Please use the above link to book onto one of our upcoming Face-to-Face FA Safeguarding Children workshops. To book onto the course you will need your FAN number and then to select your preferred date from those that are available. New course dates are added on a regular basis so please keep checking if you are unable to attend those that are currently being advertised.
