Flexi-Football

Football on Your Terms

The FA's new Flexible Football format provides adult players of all ages and ability with the opportunity to play 11v11 football midweek at a suitable location.

Flexi-Football will provide recreational leagues on rotation for women's and men's competition, as well as monthly Turn Up and Play sessions for mixed youth aged between 15* and 18 years old, girls only between 14 and 16 years old and Vets' Turn up and Play for males aged 35 and over.

The beauty of the flexible format means that match-days can be tailored to suit the needs of the participators.

Team sizes, and match durations can all be flexible depending on the number of players teams have available.

All teams have to do is turn up, pay and play with all games refereed by a qualified referee.

The vision of Flexi-Football is to:

  • Offer a non-traditional format of the beautiful game
  • Provide additional competition for existing and new players in a fun and friendly environment
  • Providing opportunities for individuals to develop football skills and increase fitness levels
  • To help signpost players wishing to play more football into traditional teams

USN Bolton Arena 11v11 Flexible League

Get involved in the Arena's 11-a-side flexible football league, fully sanctioned and affiliated through Lancashire FA.

The league will consist of up to 10 teams, who will play on the Arena's grass pitch in matches 45 minutes each way.

A truly flexible aspect of this league is that match days are optional - kick-offs on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are at 8.15pm, and Fridays kick off at 7pm.

Teams will only play each other once, so would have a fixture every four-six weeks, and a maximum of 15 players per team can be registered and used on matchdays (with rolling subs).

All fixtures will be officiated by qualified referees, home & away dressing rooms are provided, and spectators are more than welcome!

The season will run from March through to November, and match fees are £45 per team, per game.

League table and fixture details will be displayed on the Arena's website and notice board.

After the conclusion of all fixtures, trophies will be awarded to the champions and to the runners-up.

Monday Night Flexible Football League

Lancashire FA and Fisher More RCHS have teamed up to launch an exciting new flexible football league on Monday nights!

The league will run from 8pm to 10pm and take place on the school's brand new, state-of-the-art 3G pitch.

Its format will be open age football (18+) in either 11v11 or 9v9, and fixtures and results will be administered by the association.

The only cost involved is to pay the fully-qualified referee on the night - we'll take care of the rest!

Teams do need to be affiliated to Lancashire FA to be able to participate, but we will cover the affiliation cost of any NEW teams looking to join!

Football Development Officer Iain Mackie, who leads on 11v11/recreational football, said: "Our aim is to increase the amount of adults playing football.

"Using flexible formats of football, played at non-traditional times, we can engage with people with busy lifestyles and families.

"We're also able to subsidise some of the costs through funding from the FA around recreational football.

"By helping to remove these barriers to participation, we’re hoping to engage as many new teams as possible."
