Mini Soccer Festival 2017

Entries now open for hugely popular CS Club festival

We are now inviting applications for a place in our 16th annual Lancashire FA Charter Standard Club Mini-Soccer Festival!

Taking place over the bank holiday weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th May on the grass pitch at the County Ground, there are spaces for 80 teams to enter in four different age groups.

FA Charter Standard Clubs who are first affiliated to Lancashire FA are eligible to apply for the festival.

We plan to run the following age groups on the dates and times listed below (2017/18 age groups):

Under 9s Saturday 5th May Arrive 9.15am for a 10am start
Under 10s Saturday 5th May Arrive 1pm for a 1.30pm start
Under 7s Sunday 6th May Arrive 9.15am for a 10am start
Under 8s Sunday 6th May Arrive 1pm for a 1.30pm start

Mixed teams (boys and girls) are allowed in the festival and will be entered into the boys/mixed category.

There are 15 spaces in each of the age groups above for boys/mixed teams and 5 spaces for girls-only teams.

In line with the FA SCORY (FA Standard Code of Rules – Youth), the Under 9s and Under 10s will play 6-a-side games (1 goalkeeper and 5 outfield players), with a maximum squad size of 12 per team.

The Under 7s and Under 8s will play 5-a-side-games (1 goalkeeper and 4 outfield players), with a maximum squad size of 10 per team.

Match rules will be sent on application, while fixtures are given on the day.

As per FA recommendations, all age groups will be played on a ‘friendly’ only basis, with no results or league tables collated. Each player will also receive a gift on the day.

Iain Kay, Lancashire FA’s Football Development Manager said: “We are very much looking forward to our 16th annual Mini-Soccer Festival.

"We have 80 team places available over the course of the two days and, as in previous years, we anticipate that we will fill these places in a very short space of time, so I would urge our Charter Standard Clubs in Lancashire to act quickly and apply.”

Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and clubs can enter a maximum of two teams per age group.

To apply, please download and complete the application form, and return it before Friday 27th April, along with credit/debit card details or a cheque (made payable to ‘Lancashire FA Ltd’) for £20.00 per team (non-returnable).
