2018 Annual Referee Awards Evening
Tonight will see the return of the annual Lancashire FA Referee Awards Evening, where our officials are recognised for their achievements during the 2017/18 season.
The event, which is taking place at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Blackburn, will see a total of ten awards handed out, including the John Lewis Newcomer of the Year, Natalie Walker Female Referee of the Year and the Fred Kirkham Service to Grassroots Refereeing Award.
The gala event will also welcome members of the National FA Refereeing Department, as well as Premier League referee Jonathan Moss, who will be the guest host for the evening.
Looking ahead to the event, Lancashire FA's Referee Development Officer Lewis Smith said: “Tonight sees the third edition of our annual Referee Awards evening where we take the time to recognise the hard work and achievements of the refereeing workforce within the county."
"There are ten awards up for grabs covering all aspects of refereeing whether that be our match officials, mentors, observers or volunteers."
"We are also honoured to be joined tonight by Premier League referee Jonathan Moss along with Premier League Assistant Referees Ed Smart and Andy Halliday, who will be our guests of honour and partake in an interactive session with those in attendance, giving a glimpse into the life of a referee at the top level of the game."
"Once again, it has been another fantastic year for Lancashire FA referee development, with there being numerous promotions and success stories throughout the county. From our perspective it is great to see these achievements being recognised on a national scale."
"It promises to be a fantastic night ahead and good luck to all those who have been nominated for an award.”
