The FA Peoples Cup Returns

One of the first round venues in Lancashire will be Pulse in Barrow-in-Furness

The FA People’s Cup returns next month, with teams and venues across Lancashire gearing up for the popular tournament.

The People’s Cup, which is the largest small-sided football competition in the country, is made up of 15 different categories and offers a chance of glory for all.

There are two rounds to progress through before the Finals are held at St. George’s Park in April. The tournament kicks off with the first round on 23-24 February.

One venue who are set to host the competition on first round weekend is Pulse Leisure Centre in Barrow-in-Furness. The leisure centre decided to bring the FA People’s Cup to the area to help promote football within Barrow and the surrounding areas.

Tasha Pearson, Duty Manager at Pulse, said: “We are very proud to be able to bring this fantastic tournament to Barrow.”

“We believe it is a great opportunity for those who love the game but don’t want to play the 11’s version, the chance to play competitively. The chance to lift a cup at the home of English Football is also an opportunity not to miss.”

A spokesperson from Lancashire FA said: “It’s great news that Pulse are hosting this increasingly popular tournament.”

“The FA People’s Cup is open to anyone and everyone, and offers a fantastic opportunity to play at St George’s Park in the Finals later this year.”
