Black History Month 2019 is taking place across the country in October, and Lancashire FA is pleased to be hosting a Black History Month event to recognise the incredible contributions people from African and Caribbean descent have made to our country and to grassroots football.
Working alongside the National FA’s Regional Coach Manager for the North-West, Steve Smithies, as well as Lancashire FA AIB & Windrush Initiatives CIC member, Wesley Johnrose, this unique networking event will take place at the County Ground on Friday 25th October, 6pm-9pm.
The evening will cover topics such as:
• History and origin of Black History Month
• Kick It Out presenting on discrimination and how we can tackle it.
• Former professional footballer Clyde Wijnhard and Nathan Pond on their experience of the beautiful game and the barriers they have faced in their careers.
• How we can work better together
