Burnley FC Women defeated Darwen FC Ladies in the Women’s Senior Cup final, with the scoreline reading 9-0 as the final whistle blew.

Although the opening first 10 minutes was an even affair, once Burnley settled in and got in their stride they were unstoppable.

One goal quickly became two, which became three and they didn’t stop there, meaning the players walked into the dressing room at half time with Burnley five goals to the good.

Despite Darwen’s best efforts of breaking through their back line, Burnley increased their lead to 9-0 in the second half to lift the Women's Senior Cup trophy.
