Lancashire Football Association Achieves the FA and Sport England Code of Governance

Compliance with The Code has reflected Lancashire FA’s focus on modernising the organisation’s outlook and structure over recent years

Lancashire FA is delighted to reveal that we have achieved the latest FA and Sport England Code of Governance for sport, specifically for football.

To obtain the accreditation, Lancashire FA, with the support of its Members, partners and stakeholders, has evidenced full compliance over five pillars of the Code, including structure, people, communication, standards and conduct, and policies and processes.

The Code itself represents a ‘Gold Standard’ of governance, comprising of 65 requirements based on Sport England and UK Sport’s Code for Sports Governance.

Simon Gerrard, CEO at Lancashire FA, said: “Lancashire Football Association constantly strives to operate to the highest standards of modern governance. This has been a long and thorough process and I would like to thank all Members and stakeholders for their assistance and support in evidencing and ensuring compliance. In an ever-changing sporting landscape, it is important that governing bodies have a framework such as this within which to operate.”

Compliance with The Code has reflected Lancashire FA’s focus on modernising the organisation’s outlook and structure over recent years, allowing engagement with a far greater demographic involved in football and partners in the county.
