U13 Girls Youth Cup Final

Bolton Wanderers Women and Girls U13 Win the U13 Girls Youth Cup 2023

A fantastic strike from Miriam Aliouane late in the game was enough to win the game for Bolton against a competitive Haslingden Girls and Ladies side.

Bolton Wanderers Women and Girls U13 won the Lancashire FA U13 Youth Cup, beating Haslingden Ladies and Girls 2-1 to get their hands on the trophy.

A fantastic strike from Miriam Aliouane late in the game was enough to win the game for Bolton, ensuring they came out of the dramatic final with the victory.

It was a frantic start to the fixture, with both teams eager to make a good start and assert their dominance on the final. It was Bolton who were successful in doing so, as they went 1-0 up early in the game.

A through ball was misread by the Haslingden keeper, and it found its way to Abigail Carr in the box. She managed to keep composed in all the chaos, finishing nicely to give her side the lead.

Evie Hall in the Haslingden net soon made up for her slight error, however, as a fantastic goal kick caught out the Bolton defence. It was a long, looping clearance, and it found the striker who was able to round the keeper and level the game.

The second half was competitive and end-to-end, with both goalkeepers forced into action to deny their opponents. As the thought of a penalty shootout loomed, a staggering late goal guaranteed the game would finish in normal time.

Miriam Aliouane received the ball on the edge of the box, with her back to the goal. In an extremely swift motion, she turned and shot, drilling the ball into the bottom corner. The crowd erupted, understanding the significance of the strike. It was a remarkable finish, and a goal that deserved the title that came with it.
