Helping girls aged 11 upwards to progress

 

At this age group, the format of football adopts standard Association Football rules.

However, to help the step between Mini Soccer and Youth football, the format is initially 9v9 with adapted pitch and goal sizes.

From there, girls will progress to standard 11v11 football. There isn't a specific age for them to make this transition - it's usually based on what member clubs and leagues decide at their AGM. However, the recommended age for them to make the step up to 11v11 is at U13 level.

There are four main affiliated Youth leagues for girls in Lancashire:

 

 

RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Lancashire FA have a number of professional clubs within the county, and the clubs' Community Trusts are currently engaged within the local community via the Premier League Women and Girls programme.

The clubs are continually trying to link new girls to local clubs to sustain their involvement long term to keep them within the game.
