With this season’s County Cup finals fast approaching, we hosted a seminar evening where our County Cup Football Advisory Board member and FA County Appointments Officer Debbie Beckett announced which fixture each of our match officials in attendance would be presiding over.

We also took this opportunity to congratulate everyone in the room for being appointed to a final, with it being many of our match officials’ first.

Special guests Lou Saunders and Andy Madley held sessions throughout the night to impart their knowledge and experience of refereeing in the WSL and Premier League respectively.

While Saunders focussed on the importance of teamwork and getting the best out of match official teams, Madley drew on his experiences of manging the occasion when officiating at the League One play-off final which saw Preston North End promoted in 2015.
