College Recreational League

Represent your college on the pitch

The Lancashire FA College Recreational League gives students aged 16-19 an opportunity to play a flexible format of 11-a-side football.

This league is exclusively for players who have not managed to represent their college or sixth form throughout the mainstream football season.

It sits at category 5 in the Further Education football pyramid system and has been running for three seasons, with between 10 and 16 colleges involved.

The group stages take place at venues across Lancashire through April and May, with the finals day held at Lancashire FA the week before half-term in May.

With a continuing post-16 drop-off rate of footballers transitioning from youth to adult football, Lancashire FA has introduced this league to provide young players with an opportunity to get back into competitive 11-a-side football.

Previous Winners:

  • 2014/15: Wigan and Leigh College
  • 2015/16: West Lancashire College
  • 2016/17: Furness College
